Aging

Christmas day g-pa nurse helped others to keep their hearts healthy and I traveled up to Charlottsvill and was blessed to spend the day with Lily and her parents. One topic during the visit focused on getting older and how as we advance in age we are constantly are letting go of things that we have treasured in the past. I put out much less decorations for Christmas and our tree is twenty-four inches pre lighted that I just cover with a plastic bag and put in the closet for the rest of the year. I realized that I no longer spend time outside and gardening. I seem only to have energy to work and very limited extra cricular activities. It is more of a commitment every day to go foward and do what I can as well as I can and to be content. I am grateful for grace, faith, love and hope.

Two More Days Untill Christmas

Christmas is the very best party celebrated each year. Four to six weeks to prepare, decorate and celebrate, the three F's, family, friends and food. Oh, and gifts too. This year I am grateful for the gift of the Birthday Baby that came in Grace and love.

Having a laugh or Digressing?

As of lately the surgery schedule at my small surgery center is light. It could be a reflection on the holiday season and as times are unraveling an indication of the state of the economy. I am off today due to the low senses, I could sit around, mope and watch my retirement fund shrink, or listen to the sound of silence as Pedro is in the sleep room and quite. However I have been having a LOL time. I got up to the 5th level of an internet game of the Sprout Family eating sprouts and exploding after too much flatulence invades their digestive system. Thank you Sonia. As much as I am enjoying this little activity, alas I must go exchange a purchase and will go have lunch with Nicole. I am grateful for family, a bright cold crisp day, that I live in the USA, and for the Hope of Christmas.

Sisters

In November I went to Houston Texas to visit with my sister Lee and her family. I don't think everything in Texas is big, but it sure is spread out. Hailee and Demitirus my niece and nephew are budding theater actress and actors. I did not get to see a live production, however we watched dvds of Robin Hood and The Wizzard of OZ. Demitirus also is an up coming basketball player. He is a teriffic guard. We celebrated Christmas early. Family is a precious treasure.

Mermaid Sighting

Nicole and Todd in Peru

Nicole and Todd went to Peru this last July to explore her roots. They did a remote trek in the mountains on to the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. They were excited about their immersion into the ancient history.

Pedro

Had a productive day. Cleaned and polished the down stairs and cleaned out the inside of my car. Pedro is in New York with his mother. She had a low blood count and a large cyst on her side. She received blood and had surgery to drain the cyst. This must be Pedro's story day. Included is Pedro and his friend. He found the box turtle in the yard last week and wanted a photo of the turtle and himself. I thought the princes kissed the frog and turned him into a Prince. What do you think the turtle will turn into with Pedro's kiss?

Splish, Splash I was takin a bath

Pedro and I took Lily a wading pool last Saturday. When we arrived Pedro Jr., Sonia Lily, G-pa and I went to Mechie Tavern (spell) for a great lunch of fried chicken, pork bar-be-cue and peach pie with ice cream. Lily helped g-ma with the ice cream. In the afternoon we enjoyed Lily playing in the pool. Later Sonia asked if I would allow her to practice a facial on me, my skin is still soft, sigh.

Lily's Stink Face

G-ma and Lily

My granddaughter has a cute face. I think her parents call it the stink face. I must say that it is a family trait as you can see.

Leasurely Weekend

Friday and Saturday Pedro and I worked on tiling the kitchen back splash. We chose a natural river rock design and I am still acclimating to the new "popping" effects of the busy little tiles and accent piece of what appears to be a running line of armor rivets in the design. I don't know if I am in a castle or in a goth dream. I had designed the cabinets and counter tops with relaxing simple clean lines, and the new addition creates a totally new energy. Today after church I spent the afternoon gathering and putting stickers on articles I have been collecting for a spring garage sale. I keep working on "lightening the load". I am still trying to digest the goth kitchen, maybe a nipple piercing would help.

G-pa's Holly Eye

I accompanied Pedro Sr. to the eye doctor this a.m. He has the potential to develop glaucoma and his ophthamologist lasered a hole in the iris ( iridotomy) to prevent fluid build up in the eye in the event that the natural fluid drainage is compromised. The right eye was done today and the left one will be done on the 9th. He had blurry vision for a while and some discomfort, however he is must be better because he is ready to go to work.

Gaggle of Giggles

Unmeet Expectations

I received my April work schedule yesterday and to my surprise I had today off, sooo because my time is usually structured I stayed up late last night. I went to sleep with a smile on my face and the expectation of sleeping in this A.M. and having a lazy day around the house. My wonderful warm fuzzy expectations was dashed on the rocks of life, when the phone rang at 05:30 a.m., and I was asked to come in due to two call outs. :p. I had no other choice but to go in with a smile as I received the 8-15 of April off to go and spend time with Lily and her dad as Lily's mom will be going to Canada to take care of family matters. I made it through with the plans to make it an early night tonight, and with a few great laughs from Miss Lily, I will just giggle on through.:):):):):)
